Asphalt Shingles
Are you looking into replacing your roof? Not sure where to start or what to even consider? Here at Wanamaker group we understand how frustrating that may be and want to make life easier. So lets begin with Asphalt Shingles, the typical type of shingle most will find on their home.
One big factor when considering asphalt shingles is that they are probably the least expensive type of shingle to install. Though these types are not very distinctive, they are very light and require no structural reinforcement making them unchallenging for a professional roofer to install/replace because they are so simple to cut and fit.
If you have a steep-sloop roof you will find these to be the most appropriate style shingle. Although they are weather resistant, you’ll discover them to be easily damaged by mildew in shady areas and apt to scar if they become too hot. That may sound like they are a lot of work but if installed by a professional, asphalt shingles are low maintenance and easily walked on for inspections, repair, etc. Even though they do not last as long as slate shingles, there is no requirement for special accessories for edging or flashings making install a tad quicker than other style. Asphalt shingles are available in two different types, standard (organic) and laminated (fiberglass), as well as in a variety of colors, brands, degrees of fire resistance, and life-span ratings.
